4 CONVICTS in the LINTON Family & 2 CONVICTS in the SMITH Family.ROBERT BEAMS 7 yrs transportation at the Old Bailey on the 25th May 1803. His brother Thomas was also convicted. They left England on the 'COROMANDEL 2' on Dec. 4th 1803 and arrived in Sydney Australia May 7th 1804. Robert was sent to set up a settlement at Port Dalrymple in Northern Van Dieman's Land [Tasmania] in November 1804 [TRIAL RECORDS.] From copy of court records ROBERT BEAMS was aged 19 [2 spellings for this family BEAMS/BEAMES]. Robert BEAMS married at Port Dalrymple March 4th 1811 SUSSANNAH BRELSFORD [Convict]. 7 years transportation to Australia and sailed from Falmouth England on the January 11th 1807 on the ship "SYDNEY COVE" arrived on June 1807 in Sydney.
DANIEL SHEEHAN [Convict] transported of ship "Hyderabad (2)left Port Kingston May 23rd 1849 Convict Number 69424 married Feb.5th .1852 Deloraine Tas. WINIFRED HUSKINSON [convict] transported on the "Earl Grey" left Port Kingston Dec 17th 1849 Convict Number 38626.
THOMAS JEFFERIES [Convict] transported on Ship "GEORGIANA"[1] 1 July 6th 1829 married Dec. 28th 1838 Launceston Tas to ANN WILLIS [Convict] transported on the "HECTOR " in 1835 [CON 40/9] and CON 17/25].
Walsh LINTON aged 24 and sister Mary Jane LINTON aged 21 were born Ireland, aboard the ship " ROYAL SOVEREIGN" which sailed from London Via Cork Ireland, arrived in LAUNESTON Tasmania Jan 10th 1843. Mary Jane's application for assistance was accepted but Walsh's as an immigrant was refused year 1843.
There were 2 other Linton's that we know of that came to Tas a sister Elizabeth and brother John Linton. The LINTON and BEAMS families are all over Australia and some have moved around the world.
My mothers side are O'FARRELL and GRECIAN.
The O'FARRELL's are from Ireland and as Unassisted Passengers came to Australia they arrived N.S.W. We found a child registered that state they came down to Melb. Vic. Australia Jan 1854 on the Ship "MARCO POLO" Martin O'FARRELL 40, wife Mary Ann 38 and 5 children John 11, Alicia 9, Catherine 7, Thomas 5, Mary 3. they had 4 more children in a Australia
The GRECIAN's came from Ilderton, Northumberland, England. George GRECIAN aged 24 arrived on the ship "WILLIAM METCALFE" with brother Thomas aged 22 years, farmer's servants Paid 18 pound 14 shillings each for ship arrived 1844 N.S.W. George came to Ballarat to try his hand at gold prospecting, The Geelong Advertiser Nov.11th .1852 said Return of Gold from Ballarat to Geelong November 8th 1852. GEO. GRECIAN HAD 70 OZS .15 D.W.T. of GOLD. From this money he built a house at Geelong. The Cottage is of a two storey Colonial Georgian style stone residence of four rooms at 9 Bambra st.(formerly Wimmera street) Geelong.It is still stands and there is a family living in it, in the year 2001. This house has been listed on the Victorian Heritage register.
